- Lucy and her father get the rest results they hoped for, and a parents' evening is held.
- It's the day that Lucy and her father are due to get their results of the HIV test, but Lucy is determined to spend a normal day. Josh is conspicuous by his absence - he feels awkward about Lucy and is giving her space, rather than being supportive. Mr. Robson prepares the school for a parents' evening, making sure the noticeboards show a good representation of art and sports achievements. Poppy's lies start to catch up with her, as she hides her infatuation with Sixth Former Liz. Lucy sits at Jessica and Rachel's table at lunchtime. When she takes a sip of coke, Jessica makes it clear she doesn't want it back. Rachel tries to show it makes no difference to her, but accidentally causes the drink to spill over Lucy, who angrily leaves. The girls are tasked with getting biscuits for Parents Evening. Rachel finds a shop selling inexpensive, but smart looking tins, and they buy a couple. On the way back, Rachel gets the old "aren't you a bit young to be drunk" spiel by a couple of youths. Lucy berates them for not realizing she has Cerebral Palsy, but Rachel isn't pleased to have her fight her battles. Dennis loans Lucy his lucky pebble for good luck. She asks after Josh, and Dennis covers for his absence, and indifference. Poppy steals an item from the nice and full noticeboard because it has a picture of her idol, Liz. Her classmates notice, and she makes the excuse that the Houses were unfairly distributed. Wayne and Kelly then remove other pieces, until it's almost bare again. Mr. Parrott prepares things for the start of Parents' Evening, opening the fancy biscuit box - inside, every last biscuit is broken! Lucy and her father go to get the results. Then later Julie finds Lucy's father looking at the art on display at school. They get talking about things, and he tells her that he's just had some very good news - the HIV test was negative... In amongst all the parents, the poor sports master, Mr. Davies, sits alone, all the parents spending all their time with the other teachers, until a lone parent feels sorry for him and goes to chat, but their talk doesn't seem at all related to her son's sporting ability, more of a chat-up! Roz from the road protest comes to speak to Julie, telling her that they're off to Spain, and offering her the chance to come too. Josh finally speaks to Lucy, and is pleased to find her in the clear. She leaves him on his own, making it clear their relationship is at an end because he was not there for her. Lucy goes out for a fast food meal with her father. They clink their coke cans together - they have each other and they will cope with life's obstacles...—Geffers
