Suuuper cuteee!

I am so glad I found this show, it is truly adorable and with a great storyline. I am watching with a constant smile on my face, and every frame with the grandfather makes me laugh. I needed this show in my life. And the main character is so amazingly awkward. Perhaps I would have wanted it to be a little darker, more wicked, since they are demons ... maybe it will be later on. Still great though and funny.

BABI, BABI, BABI, BABI, BABIRU

Really love this show. It dropped under my radar and I am catching up with the series. Needless to say, I am loving it. It is a series concerning a 14-year-old boy named Iruma Suzuki and how he was often made to do tasks for his neglectful parents who barely fed him, provided him with education, etc. Until one day...they sell him to a demon named Sullivan. From there, he learns that Sullivan was the principal over a school in the Netherworld and he adopts him as his grandson. Comedy ensues.

The opening and ending themes are catchy as heck, the voice work is good. Animation-wise, I like the designs of the different demon students such as aside from the typical horned, pointy-eared humanoid, you also have some based on lions, owls, dragons, etc. The only real downside, though, is that due to being demons, they all have wings that aren't surprising. It's just that the wings are indistinguishable from each other.

The main story is also pretty unique in some ways of a human being adopted and sent to a school populated by demons. So, he finds himself at first trying to lay low because of his fear of getting found out and eaten by his classmates (weirdly they believe that humans are myths but their school anthem talks about eating humans blood and meat and all). However, as the series progresses, Iruma finds himself developing his own aspirations and breaking out of his shell little by little. The story is good...but it has its flaws. For instance, it feels the need to continuously remind the viewer about what they're watching like how Iruma got into this whole mess. Recapping the events of a previous episode is common practice to help the audience catch up, but the repetition often gets annoying.

All of the characters are enjoyable in their own wonderful ways. Iruma starts off as a pushover with little desires along with his inability to deny a request. While this would make him less interesting, he starts to change towards the Cannonball Execution Arc where he decides to go up a rank. From there, he is slowly making a path for himself that I am very excited to see him go down. I can't overlook how much he looks like Izuku, however, but that's beside the point.

Then there's Azz who indebted himself to Iruma after he unwittingly defeated him in a battle. He's a loyal friend...even if he's a little too interested in keeping up with everything relating to Iruma. He also has cool fire powers. My favorite characters are kind of tied. There's Clara Valac, a weird (even by demon standards) demon girl who is overly energetic and can conjure up copies of items she had seen through a magic patch. She is hilarious and is the perfect blend of annoying and endearing. The other is Ameri Azazel, the president of the student council who ironically tends to use her natural prowess when administering discipline in the school. She firmly believed that humans existed because of some shoujo romance manga that she had in her family line and becomes enamored by Iruma when he can not only read the "forbidden text," but she has him read it to her.

There are the plethora of other characters to like such as Sullivan who comes off as a goofy devil who only wanted a grandson. As such, he dotes Iruma constantly and was a better parent all things considered than Iruma's actual ones. Opera is his stoical servant who hardly smiles. Sabnock who calls himself Iruma's rival for the throne of the Demon King and is a colossal, muscular behemoth who confesses that he wanted to be the king because he thought it was cool. Eiko who tries to get to know Iruma better but fails continually. Kalego the strict teacher who inadvertently becomes Iruma's familiar on the grounds of him being a human...the list goes on.

Overall, a great show that I am glad to have seen recommendations for on YouTube. It really brings a smile to my face.

Absolutely hilarious

Warning: Spoilers
There is there is this little boy named Iruma. He is a push over, a total door mat, is really shy and kindhearted. His parents were awul and made him work on a fishing boat. They eventually sould him to a demon. The demon is his new Grandpa and Iruma now has to go to Demon school. He has to keep it a secret that he is a human or the demons will eat him. The whole joke of the show is that he keeps coming out on top because of flukes when all he wants to do is blend in. Its always funny. His two best freinds are Asmodious. He started out has his rival but Iruma beat him in a fight and he sees himself as Iruma's sevent. He is serious all the time and gets good grades. And there is Clara the annoying over the top one who is clingy and everyone ridicules her for being weird except for Iruma.

One of the best things I've ever watched
ishabhonsle14 July 2021
I L O V E this anime I really recommend watching this 100% I usually don't review anything unless it REALLY stands out and this anime does. I initially thought it'd be boring but I watched the first episode and I'm hooked.

It's got humour, but can be serious too and will always keep you on your toes. It doesn't just focus on one thing and I really like that. It's got great side characters too and the art style is great. It's got EVERYTHING. There's something for everyone. I love the cute protagonist. It's extremely interesting and I love it.

School dynamics in another perspective
Cafelar20 April 2020
Normal subjects of students and teenagers, between classes, clubs and romances, the only difference is that all of this takes place in hell. With a simple plot, brief but concise character constructions.

It is worth watching, fun and deals with the theme differently, great characters.

Only regret is that I didn't watch this earlier
kwesib-321792 July 2022
The show takes a blend of some of the most common tropes in shounen. The setting is simply the typical highschool anime only this time, set in the underworld. Even better, welcome to demon school doesn't rely on cliché tropes like tsundere, harems and fanservice. Peculiar about this anime is the main character who is human but is able to somehow blend in with the underworld.

Don't take the show seriously. The anime is mostly comedic and it pokes fun at several shounen tropes. Personally, I enjoyed the show because of how smartly and ridiculously it tries to hide the true human identity of the main character. As a result, the anime got innovative; introducing new adventures each episode.

Blatant and sub-par ripoff of My Hero Academia
donald-martin-175-87397828 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The main character Iruma, is so obviously a take-off on the My Hero protagonist ,Izuku, and even though the cartoon is meant to be a parody, it is not very funny a lot of the time and very hastily drawn. The lore is sloppily assembled with a bunch of characters having mythological demon names, but no real connection to myths and then there's grandfather "Sullivan" which is a poor pun on "Satan". Plus the show blatantly gives away the plot in the first episode by showing Iruma as the eventual Demon King. The opening them is very catchy and I'm sure it can draw a lot of viewers for a while on that. Hopefully the artwork, story and writing improves over time.

Really well done
Mysterygeneration14 January 2024
I wasn't sure if I should watch this. I didn't think rolling my eyes would be hilarious or very generic. I assumed I would detest the characters and the show. I believed if I start watching the anime I would have dropped it within the first 5 minutes. After giving it some deliberation, I chose not to attend. I disregarded it and pretended not to watch it. All of the show-related memes were being made, so I disregarded them. I disregarded every YouTube video and every possibility in order to obtain a solitary image of the performance before me. Yes, I did think and act upon all of this.

The generic nature of Iruma-kun makes it a startling anime that is often missed by "elite" fans. However, the show's originality and depth make it worth watching. The author contends that in order to fully enjoy an anime, one must immerse themselves in it to the fullest extent possible since the payoff may surprise you. It's not advised, but occasionally effective.

I had a great time watching this anime, as I had mentioned. Even if it didn't add anything new, I still believe it's a welcome change from the typical isekai we get. I would suggest this anime to anyone since it's genuinely hilarious. Oh, I see. I neglected to include. Amelie is the show's best female. Her personality struck me, and the design is really well done. Definitely waifu material.

Perfect Combination
chabellasalinas2 December 2023
I saw this anime without any expectations a few months ago, but I was wrong. It soon became one of my favorite animes because of its combination: it's hilarious, simple, and perfect. It has its comedy moments, its action moments, and its romantic moments. Although the main character's love interest isn't the best, it makes it funnier and provides a comfortable environment. The protagonist is an ordinary boy, just like us, who his parents sell to a demon. He turns about to be his new grandfather and Babyls school's principal. Regardless, Iruma has a lot of adventures, mishaps, and ups and downs that enormously impact his life. Moreover, he meets friends, classmates, and partners such as Asmodeus, a guy who hated him at first, but now it's his lapdog, Clara, his earliest female friend, and Ameri, the student council president of Babyls. He will commence a voyage with their company to discover his very purpose.

Best Anime
evabluesparda4 April 2023
This is the best anime I've seen in a long time. Great pacing. Character development. And the characters are lovable. Finished Season 3 and I still want more!!! Can't wait for season 4!!! I love watching each character grow, and getting to know them (more than I feel in other animes I've seen) and I'm really invested. The teachers are downright amazing. And the arcs are nicely paced. I do recommend both dub and sub (some songs have not been dubbed yet for the english dub as of now). And the voice acting cast is superb. If you love anime, Welcome to Demon School: Iruma-Kun is worth the watch!!!

Such a feel good show

Between Iruma's desire to make people happy, Asmodeus' earnest nature, and Clara's energetic antics, this is definitely a mood raiser. I still can't believe that cliff hanger though! I seriously can't wait for the next season!

A Really Good Series!
gbarrett-3994123 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The world building is done very well and the characters are developed as the series progresses. Each episode builds toward the story arc and even though there may be some filler it seems to be interwoven versus having dedicated filler episodes. It does seem similar to My Hero Academia but the tone of this series is not as dark. It actually reminds me more of the 80's cartoon Galaxy High. I find that it has strong retro vibes. Also they have musical pieces interspersed so it can sometimes feel like a fourth wall break. The animation is solid but not mind blowing so do let that dissuade you. The main character is a typical magnet and eventually all of the other characters find a reason to be drawn towards him. The episodes are addictive so you may burn through five or six in one sitting. Enjoy!

Something for everyone
austarrant12 July 2023
This show is really funny it was hard to stop laughing while watching it and it has little peace's of almost every other genre I can think of.

It has a large cast of background characters and somehow there all memorable each one has a distinct design and personality and I haven't seen them reuse there designs either you will never see a character twice in a crowd.

The show does get a little jarring at times with a dramatic tone shift one moment you're watching something funny and then boom here's an out of nowhere song or your watching a cool action scene and suddenly theres an inner monologue about romance it's annoying but there few and far between and rarely take you out of the Emerson.

This show is worth your time especially if you like comedies.
