Dean Cain and Jon Lovitz in Agent Toby Barks (2020)

Goofs

Agent Toby Barks

Edit

Continuity

According to Bret's learner's license, the family lives in a fictional city in New York State, and all the vehicles in this film have New York license plates. Toby and his fellow agents are shown going to and from their headquarters in a matter of minutes, whether to the family's house or to criminal lairs. However, at the very end of the film, an aerial shot of Washington DC is shown before the final scene at headquarters--implying that the HQ is located in Washington DC. This contradicts the early scene of Toby leaving the headquarters on foot a few minutes past 6:00 a.m. and arriving at home before the kids go to school.
The street address on the Learner's Permit does not match the numbers on the family's house.

Factual errors

When Lane is reviewing potential criminal allies on the computer, the federal database shows each man's height using quotation marks for both feet and inches (such as 5"10", 6"0"). Feet should be marked with apostrophes.

Miscellaneous

While student driver Bret follows the van in Auntie B's SUV, he makes what appears to be a left turn into the oncoming lane. However, this is only because the shot has been reversed. According to Kate's dialog, Bret needed to take a left turn and maybe the only shot they had available was a right turn, which they flipped.

Plot holes

It is stated that Auntie B's dog communication invention translates barking into human speech, but Toby is usually heard speaking without barking at all, even while obviously just panting in and out. This capability is not even vaguely explained.
