After Melissa and her father get taken by Skunk and his brother they are handcuffed together. Later when they are in the van the are cuffed separate. Then cuffed together again later on.
When Melissa is splatted with the blue gook in the library, she comes out spotless. It was in her hair and she could have not removed it all that quick in the library bathroom.
After going through the car wash Melissa's hair is straightened, it goes from straight to curled and back again throughout the rest of the movie.
