    Peter Duckham : The poor bugger who wrote your first one.

  • Lucas Frye : The publisher says the advance is very healthy. The title was my idea. It was toss up between that or "Pardon Me, Vlad! Is This the Tbilisi Choo-Choo".

  • [Peter is in hospital after being stabbed with what he believes was a poisoned umbrella] 

    Lucas Frye : Quack-Quack! I came as quickly as I could. False alarm, was it?

    Peter Duckham : Obviously. Or I'd be in the morgue by now.

    Lucas Frye : Oh, dear!

    [Peter shoots him a dirty look] 

    Lucas Frye : No. I don't mean "Oh, dear, you're not in the morgue". I mean "Oh, dear, how embarrassing".

    Peter Duckham : Well, I was embarrassed actually. I mean, I had to... You know, I had to drop my trousers in front of a doctor and six student nurses.

    Lucas Frye : And despite your insistence to the contrary, I suppose they found no evidence of the tiniest little prick.

  • Lucas Frye : Don't you want to know who tried to kill me?

    Peter Duckham : I don't really care. I just wish they'd hurry up and do it.
