- Barb, Nicki and Margene bicker over living arrangements; Bill barters for a loan approval; Sarah, Ben, Heather and Franky make a dangerous foray into the heart of Juniper Creek; Roman summons his children to his motel.
- "Hi my name is Margene, and I am your Blackfoot casino bus-riding hostess." Margene is dressed as an old-fashioned flight attendant, as Bill and Don demonstrate to Jerry of what their future customers can expect on the casino shuttle. Redline has agreed to run 24/4 shuttles if they sign an exclusive contract. Now they are waiting to hear from the bank on the loan but they are confident it will come through because their package is so strong. Once they have the bank's letter of intent, they are off to see the federal tribal gaming commission for approval. Jerry is impressed. Margene passes out sparking cider and toasts "To the meeting of great minds."
Bill and all the girls are on a bowling date with Ana. Nicki is complaining to Barb because Ana still hasn't given her answer to Bill's proposal. She thinks Ana as a new wifes will take pressure off she and Margie to keep having babies. Barb bites her lip and tells her to give Ana time. Joey calls to warn them that Roman is staying in a hotel in the city because he's not allowed to go back to the compound. Suddenly, Margene starts to squeal. Ana said yes! Ana asks when they should have the wedding. Bill suggests that night but Barb reminds him that Sarah has to work. So they will do it that afternoon. Ana seems a bit surprised.
Later that afternoon, they get married in the backyard, surrounded by the family, along with Don and his wife. Sarah is standing off to the side wearing her work uniform, clearly not happy to be there. Ben plays the wedding theme on his guitar. Right after they kiss, Bill has to leave for a meeting and Sarah complains she has to get back to work. Barb announces that Ana will live with her until they can work out a permanent solution. Everyone is a little shocked. Nicki thinks she should stay in her own apartment and Margene wants her to live with her. Barb tells them it was Bill's decision and walks away. Margene whispers to Nicki, "Shouldn't we have talked about this?" and Sarah cuts in, "Welcome to my world!"
Bill is at Ted's office meeting with Bob, one of Ted's friends who has a say in the anti-gaming regulations. Bill asks him to bury the bills. He agrees to take another look at them... but after he leaves it turns out they want something from Bill too. An associate of Ted's is in the process of buying a historical document, which implicates Salt Lake City in the Mountain Meadows massacre, from someone from Juniper Creek: Alby! After Alby dropped the document off to the authenticators, he got skittish about selling so Ted wants Bill to convince him to sell. Bill tells him he's not doing business with the Grants, but Ted gives him an ultimatum. Bill is pissed.
Bill and Ana sit in the backyard looking at the stars. Bills asks her why she said yes. Ana tells him that she was attracted to the way the family's love is so generous and so give. She wanted to be a part of it. Bill kisses her and says, "And now you are, wife."
Sarah watches Rosemary's Baby with Heather, Ben, and Frankie. Heather is freaking out about the graphic nature of the film. Ben announces that he and Frankie are gong to take a roadtrip to the compound and they want the girls to go with them. Heather thinks it's too dangerous and that their parents will kill her if she goes. Sarah doesn't really care what her parents think... she agrees to go.
Back at the house, Nicki and Margene come over to Barb's for their first sisterwives meeting with the new wife. Ana is sitting in Nicki's chair. Ana doesn't move. Barb tells Nicki, "it's only a chair" but Nicki retorts if it's only a chair, then Barb should move. Barb reluctantly moves to the extra seat and Ana takes her spot. Ana quickly learns the rules of the daily meeting and comments to Margene, "It's like being in the army." Margene tells her to just play along, but then asks if she asked to live with Barb. She is still pushing for Ana to live with her, but Ana doesn't want to hurt Barb's feelings.
Bill calls Joey, but first asks Kathy how she is holding up. Kathy responds, "A guilty man walked free, that's how I'm doing." When Joey takes the phone, Bill tells him that he set up Lois at one of Don's apartment. Joey explains that Alby has turned the compound into a police state. There's a curfew and there's a new security force. Joey asks Bill why he's letting Nicki go to Roman's pow wow at his hotel. Bill had no idea, of course.
At Roman's hotel, Laura and Alby head in to the meeting, wary of their safety. Alby whispers to Laura, "we should have killed him when we had the chance." They meet up with Nicki who is just as scared to be there. Once gathered, Roman threatens to reveal how they tended to him when he was close to death. Alby hits back, threatening to share how Adaleen tried to have him killed, but she responds what if people found out where the "alleged incident that she knows nothing about" took place. Tap, tap, tap. Roman turns to Nicki, thanking her helping with the trial, but then threatens to tell Bill about her assistance. Roman says that all past transgressions can be forgiven if all the sinners fall in line.
Back at the house, Barb and Ana are chatting. Barb tells Ana she's so happy to have her there, she feels like she has a true friend in this marriage. She loves Nicki and Margene as sisters, but they are not her friends. There's a difference. Ana tells her that Margene wants her to move into her house. Barb asks her what she wants. Ana wants to be where the family activity is, so she wants to say in Barb's house. She doesn't want to be left out. Ana says she will explain things to Margene but Barb tells her she's talk to Bill instead. She explains, "This is the way things are done in this marriage. There is a system."
Bil storms into Roman's hotel, looking for Nicki. He looks out to the patio and sees Nicki in a prayer circle with the Grant family. Grrrrr. He pulls Nicki aside, and she tells him she's trying to protect the family and find out where they stood. "My father has bigger fish to fry." He tells her to go home. Next he confronts Alby and asks him about the documents. Alby admits he's been collecting them from the faithful and selling them only to replenish the compound's funds. He didn't sell the Mountain Meadows document because he didn't like the buyer's attitude. Bill tells him he will help him with the deal, including a penalty for disrespect.
Back at the house, Bill comes in and finds Margene. She tells him that Ana wants to live with her, and it would be a great help to her with the kids. But Barb already called Bill on the way home and told him all about it. Bill says they shouldn't turn Ana into a glorified nursemaid and he wants her to feel settled as soon as possible. He agrees to think about it.
Nicki is at work packing up her desk. Ray comes up and Nicki tells her she's having problems with her family so she's giving her notice. Ray doesn't want her to go and smiles at her. Seriously flirting. Nicki looks away, blushing.
The kids are driving out to the compound. Sarah asks Nuss, one of the girls from Juniper Creek, why she called her wicked. She responds, "Because that's what you are. But it's not your fault, the world's a wicked place." She thinks if she doesn't believe in Roman, how can she resist the world's temptations? Heather tries to hold back her laughter, but Sarah ponders what she said.
Back at the house, Bill meets with all the wives. Now that Ana is a spouse, he wants to show her that how they deal with issues openly as they arise, such as where Ana will live. Barb and Margene say Ana should live where she wants (both thinking it's with them) but Bill announces that Ana will live with Nicki. No one is happy about this. Ana asks for a vote, but Bill puts his foot down. He wants to try this arrangement first and if need be, they can reevaluate at a later date.
Later, Bill and Don are meeting with the bank. The banker explains they have a responsibility to the community. They believe tolerating gambling among the faithful is one thing, but structuring a model to exploit that weakness is something different. Even though their credit is good their loan application is denied.
Out at Juniper Creek, the kids are hanging out on the rocks. Sarah shares with Heather that Bill took a fourth wife. She says, "With four mothers and a baby of her own, I'm no different than her," looking over at Nuss who is listening in. She admits that she came to the compound because she thought it would make her feel superior but she can't believe this is her life. Heather asks her, in her heart of hearts, what she wants to do with her baby. Much to her surprise, she blurts out, "keep it." Frankie says he wants to go see his mom, but one of the other boys tells him that Frank sent her away. Frankie runs off. Ben goes after him and tells the girls to stay where they are.
Margene and Barb help Ana bring her boxes into Nicki's house. Nicki scolds Ana for being late and tell her she can move into her nook and gives her one small drawer in the living room. Ana demands her own room but Nicki says that's for her crafts. Margene and Barb run to Bill, but he says Ana can take care of herself. Nicki runs out to join in the conversation. Barb tells Nicki she has the tendency to be a bit... "extremely abrasive," Margene interjects. Nicki says Ana is pushy but Bill reminds them that she is now sealed to the family.
Ana watches from the window as they continue to fight. Bill goes into the house and Ana confronts him and says she wants her own house. He says that as soon as something opens on the block, they will make it happen. He tells her that it's up to him to decide when it's time to buy a house. She offers to help with a down payment with her own savings. He tells her that they are suppose to pool our their money together, even her tips from the diner. She refuses and demands her own house, on or off the block. She storms off, slamming the door behind her.
Back at Juniper Creek, Heather offers to apply to ASU so she can help Sarah raise the baby. Donna overhears that Sarah is pregnant and announces it to the group. She tells her not to make any rash decisions and offers to take her to a clinic. Suddenly, a siren goes off. Alby's God squad is on their way, armed with guns. Everyone takes off running. Frankie beats at the door of Frank's house, looking for his mom. One of the sisterwives explains to Frankie and Ben that she was sent to Nicaragua. JoDean warns them they should leave before Frank gets back but Ben thinks they can talk to Frank in a rational way. Frank comes in, not happy to see them. Frank asks where Lois is hiding. Ben tells Frank that only a coward would keep a mother and son apart. Frank refuses to say where she is unless Ben says where Lois is. Frankie punches Frank in the face. Now there's no way Frank will give up the information.
Back at the house, Margene comes to Barb and offers to give her house to Ana, and then she would move in with Barb. Barb doesn't think it's a good idea. Margene is upset that Barb doesn't want her to move in.
Back at Juniper Creek, the girls are lost in the mountains and can't find the car. They are freaking out because they think someone is following them. Sarah holds up a stick in defense. It's just Nuss. She sees that Sarah is covering her stomach in protection. She leads them back to the car.
Back at the house, Nicki gets a message from Ray. He says he's calling, not as a boss or from work, just as someone who likes her, to ask her to come back to work. He admits he's missing her. Nicki hangs up the phone, flustered. Ana comes in and asks her to go bowling as an attempt to bond. At the rink, she's surprised that Nicki drinks. Nicki says once or twice is okay, but not a drop when she's pregnant. Nicki makes a toast to motherhood, hoping to get Ana to have the next child. She tells Ana that bond between sisterwives run deep and says that they she and Barb are the closest. Ana is surprised and says Barb seems a little lonely because she asked Ana to do so many things with her. Nicki is a little hurt to hear this. When she gets back at the house, she drunk dials Ray and tells him she has decided to come back to work. Ben is sleeping on the couch. Frankie wakes him up and tells him he's headed to Nicaragua to look for his mom. JoDean gave him a lead. Ben wants him to talk to Bill first but Frankie is determined. He asks him to keep it a secret from Bill and Sarah.
Barb gets a phone call as Bill is getting ready for work. One of her friend from the Eagle Forum shares the news the anti-gaming bills are out of committee and are very much alive. Ted lied.
Nicki comes in to find Margene watching Ana and Barb planting flowers in the backyard, a little jealous of how close they have become. Nicki takes advantage of the situation, first telling Margene that Barb hates her hair, and then bringing up that Barb is planting the flowers in the color she wanted instead of the ones they voted on. Margie takes the bait.
Bill confronts Ted about the anti-gaming bills. Ted tries to tell them they are still on their side but Bill isn't buying it. He says Alby is in the car with the document. He says unless the bills are sunk, the price of the document is going up. He says he will grind the bills to dusk and call the bank to get their loan approved, or they won't get the document.
Back at the house, Margene and Nicki are ripping the freshly planted flowers out of the yard. Barb comes out to stop them and Margene calls her a "womanizer" and accuses her of stealing Ana away from her. Barb is completely clueless. Margene tells Barb to admit that she didn't want Ana for the family or for Bill, but she wants to all to herself. She admits it. She wants her to be her friend. She makes her feel normal and that choosing this life wasnt' a mistake.
Ana watches from the door as they continue to fight. She goes back into the house and runs into Bill, who also heard the whole thing. He tells her they should leave for a honeymoon and get away from all the fighting. She says she can't do it. All the wives come inside and Ana tells them she thinks she is breaking their perfect union. She says, "If I stay, what I love will go away." She takes off her ring and puts it on the counter. She wants a divorce.
