Peter and his mother, Irene had inherited the Seascape Inn Restaurant from his father, who had started it in 1962, and ran it successfully for forty years. However, for Peter and Irene, it was pretty easy to see they were both miserable.
Neither one had any love for the restaurant business, and by working together they irritated and annoyed each other. It was a shame that they took the opportunity that was handed to them and turned it into a sad trainwreck.
Perhaps because of lack of experience, or lack of attention to their restaurant, they made two horrible choices for Head Chef and Sous Chef. Doug was the head chef, and he was the laziest and most arrogant chef I have ever seen on any show. He never bothered to do any work, and he expected the food to go out of the kitchen by magic. I wonder if he could even cook a grilled cheese sandwich?
The sous chef was Charley who was even more of a zero than Doug. Charley basically shows up for work and does as little as possible.
Between Doug and Charley, the Seascape was in a horrible financial situation. Once this episode filmed, Peter and Irene took advantage of the situation and sold it.
There are no updates about any of these folks that I can find on the internet. It would be interesting to see what happened after Seascape Inn.
