Demi Lovato, Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas, and Nick Jonas in Camp Rock (2008)

Goofs

Camp Rock

Edit

Continuity

In the first scene where Mitchie is singing and playing in her room, the hand that runs down the keyboard is obviously the hand of a much older person.
When Shane walks into the kitchen and Mitchie is on the ground, Shane says "I can hear you." His tongue is blue, yet he has not eaten the frosting of one of the cupcakes.
During scenes where Shane is looking for the 'girl with the voice', 3 girls walk past him singing as he is coming out from the water, but the only part of his body that is actually wet is his hair.
When Mitchie and her mom first arrive in Camp Rock with the catering truck, it's parked behind Tess' limousine, but when Mitchie says "Whoa," she is looking behind instead of looking at the limo, which was in front. When Tess gets out of the car and Mitchie says "Whoa" again, she is still looking behind.
After Uncle Brown wakes Shane up for his class by pouring water on him, the water goes from being super-saturated in a few streaks on his clothing in one shot to making his entire shirt look slightly damp in the next shot.

Factual errors

While getting ready for a party, the girls are blowing up balloons. The balloons look like they are filled with helium, but the girls are blowing them up by mouth.
Richie's mom Connie, a caterer, takes a job as the cook at Camp Rock because "business is slow in the summer." There's something wrong in this. In weddings alone, summer (May through October, actually) is when caterers are in peek demand. Connie's statement would infer that either public interests naturally incline toward winter weddings or that highly atypical and undisclosed circumstances prevent her business from tapping into the most lucrative part of the year.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

At the end of the film in the last song, the camera man can be seen in several shots at the back of the room (top right of the screen) when the audience is shown; however, this fits in with the story because, when Nate and Jason were with Shane shortly before Final Jam, Nate says, "The press is here and they're gonna cover the whole night." Camera crews are often included in "the press," especially for pop stars.

Audio/visual unsynchronised

When Connect 3 is singing "Play My Music" for the kids at camp, you can hear Shane's voice echoing as though it is a recording of the song being played.
In the scene where Shane sings an unfinished song he is working on to Mitchie, invisible background singers accompany his "solo" into the middle of the song.
During the song 'Camp Rock' at the beginning of the final chorus, the cast appears to be singing "camp rock" while Mitchie sings solo, yet only Mitchie's voice is heard.
Towards the end, when Peggy is performing, she is supposed to be playing the guitar but she is only strumming it, one of her hands, which is supposed to be changing the notes, is simply holding the guitar.
The only time Tess ever uses a microphone is at her performance at Final Jam and when she sings in "We Rock," but her voice comes out as if with a microphone when none is there.

Crew or equipment visible

When Shane is singing "Gotta Find You" to Mitchie, you can see the camera in the reflection on his guitar.

Character error

The term "jam [session]" is used inaccurately at Camp Rock. A "jam session" is meant to be a musical act that is played without extensive preparation or arrangements. In the "jam" sessions featured at Camp Rock, all music and dancing appears well-rehearsed, defeating the true sense of a "jam session".
