Though Bob's own subsequent assassination in a seedy bar remains unsolved officially, Harry James' alibi has never held very much fire water. Whether the craven amber-bellied pusillanimous Ford deserved to be bushwhacked is still a matter for debate. After all, Jesse and his brother Frank were infamous traitors guilty of committing many war atrocities, and one of Jesse's final crime sprees involved torching a dozen sawmills. Most upright True Blue loyal patriotic Americans have never even burned down three or four such businesses.
