Having previously seen Gus Van and Joe Schenck in their Vitaphone short on The Jazz Singer DVD and just several hours ago in a Metro Movietone Revue short on The Broadway Melody DVD, I just watched their starring short for M-G-M on TBM DVD just now. They sing two songs with the first one being very short and the second one being a little longer. I think one was sung in Pidgin English, you know, the kind the Chinese speak when using English words or at the least the kind they spoke then. Anyway, they were pleasant enough watching them here. It's been real fascinating watching a lot of these now-forgotten vaudeville acts the past several days on these vintage shorts. So with the ten lines already written, that's my review...
