Learn more- A depressed young widow (Katya) checks into a Port Townsend, WA hotel to commit suicide. By a twist of fate, a clothing bureau turns into a steam punk time machine and the Russian Princess Anastasia tumbles out, escaping certain death by the Bolsheviks. Both confused and uncertain of their new reality, before they can become acquainted, a crazed Bolshevik soldier crashes out of the time machine with a ticking bomb in his hands. He warns Anastasia she has three hours to return to 1918 or her family will die without her. As he endeavors to escape the room, he drops a pistol, which Anastasia immediately uses to shoot him. Instantly, he vanishes. Stunned, Katya tries to explain the details of time and relativity through a brief introduction on her laptop. In order to destroy the time bomb, Katya carries it into the bathroom, fills the bath tub, and submerges the bomb until the ticking stops. Their privacy is interrupted by a bell hop, who offers a platter of champagne, As Anastasia sips on her glass she discovers a television remote device and accidentally activates it. On the screen is an amorous pair of lovers in bed. Katya quickly grabs the remote and switches it off, explaining that she has much to learn about relationships and maturity. Anastasia insists she must return to Russia, but has no answers. While she is distracted, Katya drops a sleeping pill into Anastasia's glass and after she drinks it dry, becomes sleepy and stretches out on their bed. The ticking time bomb can be heard reactivated in the bathroom tub, and Katya spring in to action, snatching it from the trapped water and returning it to the time machine, where she bids goodbye to the sleeping princess. When Anastasia awakes, she finds Katya gone, with a short note from her attached to the bathroom mirror - promising they will meet again. Scene fades to a modern jet liner, where Anastasia looks out the window port and listens to the flight attendant announce their arrival in St Petersburg, Russia.
