Awesome use of motion capture
Motek Entertainment in Amsterdam is currently producing Season 04 of the Sprookjesboom, due to start airing in late 2009. The new season utilizes Vicon T160 motion capture cameras and an advanced processing pipeline which includes color grading and compositing in Nuke.
Mark Walsh, directing animator for Ratatouille and Finding Nemo, had these kind words to say: "Sprookjesboom has the softest, nicest look of any full computer generated (CG) show I've seen. I found this so smart, because CG can look so harsh, especially when there's not a big budget. The soft look really makes everything look lush and rich. And while I can't speak the language, I found many of the gestures and acting ideas to be quite original. Usually TV animation acting is so bland. Again, this is the best I've seen in TV, especially TV production outside the USA."
