Aside from some weird special effects related to the bird, a cool episode.

Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed this episode of "Pushing Daisies" and its only weakness is a rather lame looking bird--but considering the entire show is so deliberately plastic-like in look, this isn't all that bad.

The show begins with a pigeon flying into a window at The Pie Hole and it dies. However, while Olive is clutching the poor dead bird, Ned accidentally touches it, it comes to life! But before Olive can react, a plane flying overhead crashes into a building! Soon, the pilot's wife hires Emerson and Ned to prove this death was NOT a suicide. And, it turns out it wasn't...the accident has something to do with the dead bird and an escaped prisoner! And, all this ends up at a bizarro windmill museum--with Chuck's Aunts assisting in the process! This episode is bizarre--a hodgepodge of strange plot elements that make you laugh. It is just too hard to try to explain them all. In addition, there's more of the weird and wonderful aunts (a plus) and it was nice to see an unexpected relationship blossom between them and Olive! A must-see.

On the trail of the one-armed man!

Warning: Spoilers
'Pushing Daisies' continues to impress with another quirky episode; when a pigeon flies into the window of The Pie Hole and dies Olive picks it up and while showing it to the others it brushes against Ned. She assumes it is a 'miracle bird' rather than realising it was anything to do with Ned and before she has time to dwell on it further everybody is distracted by the sight of a small plane crashing into an apartment block! Ned, Chuck and Emerson go up but the pilot is dead and being taken away and the apparent occupant of the house is unscathed but has no information. When Ned revives the dead pilot they learn that he had been hijacked and that the man in the apartment was the hijacker... and he is with Chuck in The Pie Hole! They rush there and almost catch him but he escapes leaving his false arm in Ned's hand. It turns out the man was an escaped convict who broke out of jail hoping to find his late cellmates stash of stolen diamonds. Having asked the dead cellmate where they are Ned, Chuck and Emerson head to the site little knowing that Olive and Chuck's aunts are going there too... because while the others were solving the mystery Olive took the pigeon to the aunts so they could sew a new wing on and the newly winged bird flew off without its message!

This was another entertaining episode; the main story was as quirky as ever and the pigeon repair was totally insane and the special effects were less than special... on any other show that would have spoilt it but somehow it just added to the eccentric charm of 'Pushing Daisies'. It is good to see the aunts and Olive becoming friends; I loved their rendition of 'Birdhouse in Your Soul'; it was hilarious. Another highlight was the final scene; Ned and Chuck find a way to dance without her dying... how romantic!

This Show's Got Legs! Another Fantastic Episode!

What an amazing convergence of talent, writing and cinematography! It consistently provides a magical combination of wit, salaciousness, color and fun. I see an interesting analog between the relationship of Chuck and Ned and 21st Century social structures, based upon factors ranging from distance to sexually transmitted disease. I'll give it some thought and draw up a full proposal on it in my blog. Seeing my new buddy Dash Mihok in an episode that had an abundance of imagination, humor, romance, and allegorical virtue was just the cherry on top of the sundae. Please don't let the thick-heads who control the money take away this show...or what's so damn good about it. Shout out to Mr. McBride! Look forward to working with you again.

Pigeon is a very excellent episode of "Pushing Daises"

Warning: Spoilers
In this episode of the wonderfully whimsical series, "Pushing Daises", after Ned inadvertently brings back a pigeon to life past the one-minute limit thereby killing another bird in its place, a plane crashes into a building killing its pilot. In that building, Chuck starts to fall but she's saved from hitting the floor by a janitor. Ned gets jealous especially after that guy holds Chuck's hand in The Pie Hole bud Chuck did that pretending the hand was Ned's. That hand turns out to be attached to a fake arm. It also turned out that arm's owner was an escaped prisoner who killed the previous janitor he took the identity of. Meanwhile, Olive with the revived pigeon and Chuck's pie in tow, goes to Chuck's aunts' house with a plan to expose the previous thought dead niece to them...First of all, I'd like to mention how wonderful to hear Broadway musical stars, Kristen Chenoweth and Ellen Greene, (whom I first saw in the movie version of Little Shop of Horrors) sing a little duet here. Hope more opportunities arise. Also, nice to see Olive have a little more heart concerning Chuck and the aunts. The theme of love and jealously sparkles with humor and passion with great effect. And even supposed bad guys get some redemption with Jayma Mays (who was a waitress Hiro tried to save on "Heroes" last season) giving some to one who truly needs it. And how nice to see that Ned's dog Digby knows his owner all too well! This was an excellent episode of "Pushing Daises". Glad ABC gave this unique series a full season pickup.
