maybe, too much
Kirpianuscus29 January 2023
A decent story about friendship, overweight, expression of militantism and public image of obese.

Nice crafted, admirable job of Juliette Katz, good humor and inspired exploration of the social problems. But, for me, unfortunatelly, not just convincing.

The French cinema has a solid experience in exploration of social aspects and this film represents only another beautiful proof but it seems too much and I write this as overweight person. Sure, discrimination, low status, ironies and compassion, all is true . But the film only reminds them. As a sort of sumary . And, maybe, exactly this is the main problem.

The result - seductive job of Juliette Katz and Julie Delarme. But the effort to say too much, from abuses of exhusband to the romance with Math teacher is just ...too much. And this transforms all in a serious fist of truisms.

But, sure, at final, easy to define it as a decent social bitter - sweet comedy.
