- Gabby Ferrar moves to the town of Bright Shore, Massachusetts to open a restaurant after a stint as a sous chef in New York. Upon arrival, she encounters Caleb Delaney, a single father who runs his own restaurant and coaches the girls' softball team. During the course of the summer, Gabby finds joy in running her own restaurant as she rediscovers her passion and gets to know Caleb.
- Former baseball star and widower Caleb Delaney runs, with culinarily gifted junior brother Trevor, the leading diner in Bright Shore, Massachusetts, where he also brilliantly coaches the girls softball team. It includes his daughter Emily and her buddy Sophia Weaver, daughter of Matthew Weaver and Gabby Ferrar. The latter welcomes the arrival of her ambitious sister Christina Weaver, who left New York after star chef Franco dismissed her as sous-chef claiming she needs a new challenge. Christina decodes to open her own restaurant, leasing the umptieth failed food business in a location near Delaney's, but at a more ambitious culinary level. As Trevor comes up with original dishes, both thrive as major competitors, also in the annual summer food festival, while Caleb and Christina can't avoid becoming a challenged item and Caleb finally feels ready to apply as professional school coach.—KGF Vissers
