  • While chasing Bella in Monument, Colorado, Dean and Sam are set up by the despicable blonde and arrested by FBI Agent Victor Henricksen with the support of four local policemen. They are arrested in a cell in the precinct while waiting for transportation to a maximum security facility. Sam finds that he is possessed and succeeds in exorcising the demon that kills the agents outside the building. Then the skeptical Agent Henricksen is also possessed by a demon and kills Sheriff Melvin Dodd with a shot to his head. However Sam again exorcises the demon saving the life of Henricksen. Now the three survivors believe in the words of the brothers and they realize that thirty locals are possessed and the police station is besieged. They prepare to defend the building against the demon attack with salt and pentagrams. Suddenly out of the blue, Ruby arrives with a deadly solution to kill the demons including herself. But Dean does not accept the price that has to be paid.—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Synopsis

  • In this episode, Bela (Lauren Cohan), to elude Sam and Dean after stealing the magic Colt pistol, has called in an anonymous tip to the FBI which results in the brothers' arrests. During the Winchesters stay at the prison in the small town of Monument, Colorado, Dean is shot by a demon masquerading as an FBI supervisor, but Sam says a prayer in Latin which dislodges the demon, although the host body is revealed to have already died. Numerous townspeople become possessed by demons who have failed to infiltrate the prison, thanks to the salt and pentagrams that the brothers use to keep the demons out. Sam and Dean defend the police officers, an FBI agent, and a receptionist against the attack. Ruby (Katie Cassidy) attempts to help them to destroy all the demons with a spell, but for that to happen, the receptionist, a devout Christian and a virgin, would have to be sacrificed. Ruby is willing to give up her own existence, albeit grudgingly, as she would also be vanquished by the spell and blames the brothers for the Colt's disappearance.

Dean adamantly refuses to sacrifice anyone and opts for an all-out fight against the demons, although Nancy, the receptionist, is willing to carry out Ruby's plan to save the others' lives. The Winchester brothers come out victorious and the townspeople return to normal, but Lilith, the powerful demon who holds, among other contracts, the one Dean made to give up his soul to save Sam's life, realizes the brothers are a threat to her plans. She comes to the prison in the guise of an innocent-looking little girl and asks for the brothers, whom she has just narrowly missed, but kills the three remaining survivors of the previous night's siege, including the receptionist, whose virtue fails to save her this time. The episode ends with the brothers learning about the destruction of the police station and the killings on television; Ruby remains quite furious that Dean's plan cost so many lives, while her plan would have cost but one (besides her own).
