Heading into the second season of the series, an entire 8 months has passed since the previous football season ended, summer is coming to a close, and a new football season has begun. While the characters seem to have stayed the same, feelings and relationships have changed. There is a new football coach of the Panthers, and as always, new issues to be dealt with.—Anonymous
Past relationships take on different characteristics as Eric and Tami welcome a new baby, but Eric still returns to Austin anyway. Julie and Matt drift apart as Julie fears becoming her mother, married to a football star living in a small town. Lyla becomes born-again and dismisses Riggins' attempts to socialize. Landry and Tyra become closer, and deal with her assailant from the previous year. Jason questions whether he can support the new coach's brutal methods.—Ron Kerrigan <mvg@whidbey.com>
