lousy
reverhart125 May 2020
This movie was way too slow and hard to get into. Also, the conversations were so low, it sounded like the were mumbling all of the time. We had the sound turned up so high just to try and hear what they were saying that when the music came on it almost deafened us. It was too hard to watch to be enjoyable

Grow up already!!
BA-99647 March 2020
This movie is slow and truthfully the couple need to grow up between her selfishness and his head in the sand attitude. The acting was not to bad but again so slow that it was difficult to watch.

Selfish, horrible woman
felonycrimespree14 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The whole movie I really wanted the husband to divorce her. She was a horrible selfish woman. Who thought this was a good movie? The husband was capable of growing up at least.

Very slow, predictable. Fast forwarded to end!

It felt incomplete, with gaping holes in the storyline and an unsatisfying resolution that should have happened way earlier in the story. Pacing was treacherous slow. Too bad.

The woman is an idiot.
wesley-9770814 March 2021
How can you enjoy a movie when one of the main characters is so unlikable? The woman is a whiny spoiled idiot who doesn't know how to do anything. The guy doesn't know how to do anything either but at he's not as annoying. She goes back to this nice house that was left to her by her parents and she doesn't seem to know anything about the house. It's ridiculous.

Miserable 90 minutes
kperkins-1517731 January 2021
The most unlikeable characters of any movie ever. Worst plot, most unrealistic story possibility. Words can't describe the rage felt watching this god-awful 'movie'.

Easy going, with a 'Hallmark' vibe
rebeccalloyd23 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I loved that the lead actress was from 'Emma'. She's charming.

I found the house (that they have to fix up) colour palette and furnishings very pretty. The acting was solid across the board. The plot made sense. It was slow moving, so be in the mood for that. I'd have liked to see a little more chemistry between the two leads..but in the script they're already married (sorry for the spoiler), so it makes sense to not have that sizzling 'first kiss' type of vibe.

If you're after a typically predictable but enjoyable 'Hallmark' style romance, that's visually appealing in its cinematography, has an easy going, drama free script and leaves you feeling good at the end..you'll enjoy this film.

Worst movie ever
gwendagwenda11 June 2022
Terrible acting, terrible writing. At the very least I was expecting a house that actually needed renovating, not a pristine mansion. Such a waste of time, even though I didn't get past the first half.

Anyone who's ever DIY remodeled will understand!! LOL
flamingokidd-729-61530711 January 2021
It's kind of an updated version of The Money Pit premise. Novertheless a fun movie.

At first, like most other reviewers, I was annoyed by Dan because he's a self-centered bonehead, and Anne is a whiny, spoiled woman-child! They eventually grow on you, and then you can see them transform and rekindle their relationship, which is much appreciated! (Frankly, less than 1/2 way through the move, I wanted to punch Anne...The Wine Cellar scene, especially!!!!)

This storyline perfectly blended the issues of money problems and doing a remodel as a couple who don't really know what they're doing; the annoyance and frustration involved, which thankfully turned into better understanding and teamwork. We've all been there, man! LOL

Give this one a shot. It'll be worth it.

Get To The Point, Already!
mile8green24 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I lowered my expectations in order to subscribe to Pure Flix, which is where I found this movie, but after 30-minutes, I had to bail on it. As is typical with movies on PF, the problem here is the writing.

You have this massively materialistic and superficial woman who is unhappy in her relationship because she isn't getting what she wants for it. All the while, the couple is financially broke and she has no clue. They're behind three months on rent and facing immediate eviction but she is completely unaware. Really? The actress gives a fine performance, but the character has to be believable in the first place. I just couldn't get passed it because the character is not only unbearable, but the story just does not move along. Get to the point, already!

Awful chemistry, poor house had to be subjected to all this immaturity
imfinallyfree-4684813 July 2021
The acting is so poor by the woman that I am embarrassed to admit I am a woman. The immaturity in incomprehensible. The guy is bad but mostly from the poor chemistry. The insanity that spews from her mouth as she butchers the script, it she drunk all the time? Also the script itself is ludicrous. You can google the price of the wine before she breaks the bottles. Just shows how stupid they both are. How were they rich previously? Mommy and Daddy. Enough.

Could have been better
krayjc22 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This is the worst movie I have ever seen. Dumb, dumb, dumb! So slow. Had to fast forward it to get thru it. How can you renovate a home when you are broke. If they would have called an expert in to put a value on the wine it would probably have covered their debt. Chances are they drank enough wine in their young lives they did pay for. How could you not know the value of it. Very childish and immature behavior for her to break the bottles of wine.

Stabilized the "Dumb Blond" theory which was just too bad. Made her out to be worthless do nothing.

Something was wrong with the audio. Hard to hear or understand what the said even with the volume turned way up.

Boring

The Name is misleading, there is no actual/ real renovation shown in the movies, plus the movie is so slow. I shoud have read the reviews before watching the movie. Never again! Also what happened to those expensive wines! The Name is misleading, there is no actual/ real renovation shown in the the movies, plus the movie is so slow. Sweet, Entertaining, Healthy
bdurant-8529610 April 2020
It's difficult to understand the other reviews of this movie as well as the low ratings. A couple finds themselves in a huge debt hole and attempt to crawl their way out of it by selling a home they own.

Expect some of the usual storylines as per this type of movie, but don't expect the ugliness, the mean attitudes or the utter disregard of the person they are with. This is the reason I'm shocked at the reviews irritated by the immaturity of the couple. The spoiled nature of the wife.

The above two charges are not true at all. Both the husband and the wife made wrong decisions to get themselves to this point and allowed their personal wishes to separate them as a couple, but only to a point. They NEVER fell out of love, not did they completely disregard the other as a partner.

You will not be disappointed if you watch the movie. I wish there were more like this.
