Sorry to say, the film lacked story and script. First half was not necessary, second part has no thrill.

Another Double Barrell
PimpinAinttEasy12 January 2020
This was my most awaited movie of the Christmas season. I was hoping that it is not another Double Barrell.
Unfortunately, it is another Double Barrel meets Parava meets Angamaly Diaries. The film does not work at all. Imagine a heist movie where the heist itself isn't important but the story of a place and it's characters are. But the place and characters are nothing great. The dialogs are awful.
But I'm certain about one thing. Shane Nigam is a huge future legend. What a talent. He really lights up the screen when he's on. Does a great job in action scenes. Reminds me of a young Mohanlal.

Like a messed up avial curry

No reason for the three hour long running time. Half of the running time is spend on showing random scenes which do not add up to anything. Too many characters and subplots which are insignificant. Newcomers are a pain to watch. They can't act. It has a convoluted plot which drags on and on in many places.
Dialogues are unconventional but lack clarity. Half of the time I was wondering 'what are they talking about, whom are they talking about?'
Shane and Joju are a pleasure to watch. Joju's minute expressions are quite good. He is one of the best actors to do character roles. Heroine was okay, but ultimately was not needed in the movie at all. Some guys acting well and the others acting very bad left me with a messed up feeling. I was wishing for the scenes with the newcomers to get over as soon as possible.
Background music was good, fight scenes were good, camera work was good.
It has a good story, but the plot made it a mess.
I'll give it a 4/10. Gave 1 only to balance the rating. Seems like so many fake reviews are in here.

An extremely long, unworthy watch even with Shane in the lead! [+34%]

The only reason I'm giving it an extra half star is because of Rex Vijayan's score. The storyline is a convoluted mess with too many inconsequential characters. A couple of new talents (in the cast) seem fine, but the rest either awkwardly ham it up or are terrible. The writing, for a movie where the location is a character of its own, lacks finesse. The dialogues are often ridiculously condescending. Mattanchery & Fort Kochi looked much better in Soubin Shahir's Parava, both from storyline and aesthetic standpoints. Even stupendous actors like Shane and Joju put up half-hearted efforts. Himika Bose looks pretty, but like 99% of the cast, plays an inconsequential character who shows up intermittently. What was Soubin, Alencier, Captain Raju, and Atul Kulkarni doing in this movie? At 2 hours and 55 minutes, Valiyaperunnal is a total borefest.
Very niceee

Disappointed!

What was the movie trying to tell, i doubt even the makers had any clue what they were trying. The story is a jumbled mess, the dialouges are weak, acting by some are down right irritating, only better performance is by shane nigam who continues his usual type dialogue delivery and style( just like every other movie he does, the same kochi accent every movie!). I am sure he has a future. This film is not worth your time.

I felt like its a kind of experimental movie. Shane and the actress did a good job with their dancing skills. The movie is too long but not irritating. Director and script writer need more homework wen taking this kind of movies. Editing part is good.
Good scenario

This is the 6th movie I'm watching in Malayalam. I had a bad impression on South Indian movies, since I have only watched Telugu movies. But Malayalam is somewhat different from those stupid movies. Technically this movie is so brilliant. Really good actors and dancers. Have seen that hero in another movie before. He is a brilliant actor.
Confusing story line

Had no idea about the story from the first half. But the scenes were good. I liked that person's villain role. Its somewhat lagging. However it is watchable. Felt like they depicted the exact slums of Cochin and Mattancheri.
