Good Promotional Piece
The Making of 'The Verdict' (1982)
*** (out of 4)
Entertaining promotional piece that was used in 1982 to draw attention to THE VERDICT. I'm not sure how much credit can go to something like this but there's no question that it's a well-made piece that at least makes you interested in the story they're trying to tell and everyone on board tries to make you think you're watching something special. Stars Paul Newman and James Mason are joined by producers David Brown and Richard Zanuck as they discuss what makes this film so special. Obviously this here is a studio piece meant to help sell the picture but viewing it today is pretty special since many of those here are no longer with us. It's fun getting to hear from the likes of Newman back when the film was in production and hear him talk about the character. It's also fun hearing from the producers as they comment on the work being done by Newman. There's certainly nothing too special here but fans of THE VERDICT will enjoy it.
