Quite A Cast

There's Hank Mann and Gale Henry and a bunch of beautiful bathing beauties, and Buddy the Dog. It's down at the beach, where Miss Henry is mad at husband Mann for flirting with all the young lovelies.

There's little in the way of story, and not much in the way of set-up for the gags, but it's carried off beautifully because .... well, these old pros didn't need much in the way of writing to produce an amusing comedy sequence. Mann manages to make an extended sequence of sliding down a slide and thereby annoying Miss Gale go on for quite a while. Add in a bit of thrill comedy, and you've got yourself a good two-reel comedy.

This film forgot to be funny.

"One Day in Hollywood" is a comedy short that forgot two things...to have a coherent plot and to have laughs. As a result, it's a very skippable.

A couple (Hank Mann and Gale Henry) head to the beach. She spends her time with her friends and he spends time with a group of bathing beauties. Complications arise.

The film has some decent parts....but there really isn't much plot, the gags are weak and the character of the house detective is annoying. Overall, it's a film that should have been funnier.
