I have a question.

Not being American and therefore not having a full understanding of all your laws, I was wondering why if it was the dad's sperm that the fertilised the donor egg why he didn't have any rights as the father. The surrogate agreement may not have been legal but surely he has rights as a father.

This episode makes no sense after "The Forsaken" episode

Warning: Spoilers
I'm a little late to this show but really enjoying binging it so far, so my comment is a bit behind a lot of the ones already here.

That being said, one storyline in this episode was really confusing: we just had an episode ("The Forsaken") where the bio dad was able to swoop in and claim a baby he didn't even know he had, but in this episode the bio dad - who wanted the baby so much he jumped through surrogacy hoops - doesn't have any right to it at all? Not to mention the surrogate wasn't even the bio mom either, so why did her parents have a claim? I'm glad it ended how it did at least, but did no one proof this script first?
