When the Shoeless Ones make a second half comeback, they actually score 6 goals but lose the game 6-5.

It was stated that the semi final v France was 1-1 at half time. Brazil were actually 2-1 up at half time.

In the film, Pelè's mother is a servant in Josè Altafini "Mazzola's" home. In real life, both Pelè and Altafini were from modest families. They also lived in different towns.

The film shows the Brazilian public on many occasions watching the live World Cup matches, This wasn't possible as Satellite broadcasting had not yet been introduced, and they could only have seen recordings of the games days later.

At one time the Commentator talked about a player possibly receiving a red or yellow card during a 1958 World Cup match. The card system was not introduced until the 1970 World Cup.

At the start of the movie we see people in Brazil listening to 1950 world cup game Brazil vs Uruguay. The score is 1-1. They are praying for 1 more goal. This is wrong as they didn't need any more goals. Brazil would have won the World Cup with 1-1 draw as this game was not actually a final but a group stage game and Brazil was 1 point ahead.
