pretty darn awful

I watched this movie on a dare, which should have said volumes about the quality of the product in itself. Filmmed with what appears to be 3 different cameras ranging from VHS to mini DV the film spiraled all over the place with the typical undertones of the urban hood element sprinkled throughout. What I got in this film was poor performance after poor performance and camera-work that was far from acceptable. But surprisingly there were some performances that were watchable. One is the lead lady Chrenia Black, who plays Carmen. She did a good job in a terrible film. And the same can be said for the actor Christopher Anderson who played the lead Jarez Green. But at the end of the day, this was still an undeniably bad film. Who knows what this film was about but I can say this, if the filmmakers really spent $85,000 on this film, they spent $84,999 too much!

Warning: Spoilers
I'm a film buff who watches all sorts of films, hence my desire to watch Street Life Directed by Timothy Willis (no relation to me). It made me laugh from the opening scene. I'm not sure if I was suppose to laugh but it was funny. The acting was spotty more good then bad, I assumed the camera worked was done the way it was on purpose but who knows.

Street Life reminded me of a 1970 Black exploit film. I liked of so much I order a couple of copies for friends in Europe, so they could get a good laugh while drinking and ...

I recommend a strong buy.

Warning... Bad Film Ahead!

I am so tired of these types of films being released. These hood, crime-filled, so-called "keeping it real" slices of life where everything seems to revolve around tough talk and violence. But it is basically an excuse for some self-indulgent director to do his rendition of Scarface. It would be another thing entirely if this film, "Street Life" was well done. But it wasn't. Everything about this film is terrible from the bad acting to the bad camera work to the bad dub jobs because they didn't have good sound. I can't believe this movie was in my local video store. Maybe they have to meet a quota of bad films.
