True, deep and dedicated love transcends gender, race, culture and time.

The protagonist's first love in this Dramedy, receives dedication through ritual and memories the two have shared. Their love is so deep and natural, that cultural judgments are cast aside throughout their earlier years in high school and up until the present. Early 50s and 60s R&B music drives memory and ritual the two have shared. A special day is filled with reminiscing, preparation and music. Thank God for MP3 players! The choice of music in this love story is classic, new and fresh. The sound track evokes feelings of love, loss and anticipation, no matter what gender of person is singing to us. This is one of the elements that creates the story. The protagonist's promise leads to an unexpected conclusion. The beautiful cinematography and music choices add richness to this high-quality short.

The movie was very moving to me and makes us realize just how important music is in our lives

Music does affect us in different ways and this movie not only shows that but how love is expressed so many ways in music. I also felt that this movie is so much about how we say goodbye in different ways to people that we love in our lives, whether it a mom or dad or sister or brother or son or daughter or friend or lover. The title does reflect for me just how life in so many ways is like a game that we play, making the right moves , at the right times , with the right players, in the right place, instead of doing what feels good and makes us happy. This to me is the kind of movie that I will remember and think about.

Fulfillment of a promise in the context of humor and music

In a few short minutes, this lovely film conveys to the viewer the history of a relationship, aspects of life that create nostalgia for our future, our need for commitment, and the need to move on that we all face in life at one time or another. I loved the use of this great period of music and the wonderful camera shots that did so much to enhance the message. Though there was some sadness in the story, I found it to be humorous and uplifting at the same time. It also showed that while we forge ahead in our lives, we are able to take our past experiences with us, continuing to pay homage to people who have affected us along the way.
