- With Perry Como on summer vacation, Tony Bennett takes over the time slot of "The Perry Como Show" with his own summer replacement program. Guest singers June Valli and George Reeves perform individually (Reeves sings "Vamos a Tepa [Las Alteñitas]", accompanying himself on guitar), and Bennett himself sings "Happiness Street," "Can You Find It in Your Heart?," "Lost in the Stars," "Always," and "Since My Love Has Come." Comedians Ben Blue and Harvey Stone do comic routines, and unicyclists The Three Goetschis perform. A production number of "Lullaby of Broadway" and a performance of "Jukebox Saturday Night" by The Spellbinders round out the show.—Jim Beaver <jumblejim@prodigy.net>
