This is what happens when you have some good connections in entertainment industry and no talent for directing movies. You finally put together a budget and a crew. But the result makes you feel sorry.

The way this story is told is common for cartoons or parodies, not movies. Good guys are colored in blue, bad guys in red, so you wouldn't confuse them. You'll see some brutal soviet militia, bureaucrats and Jesus-quality hippies. And, yes, the main character will die so we would drop some tears at the end.

Film about soviet hippies with a lot of historical facts
Ulianova_O11 March 2011
Great film with good historical background. I love it very much. Not much deep moral investigations but it transfers fantastic atmosphere of that time. It's not art-house, but it's not a simple Hollywood happy-end stuff in the same time. Actors are beautiful, especially the main one, playing Solntse. Old soviet hippies which were involved in the film production agreed that there were a lot of historical evidence in the film, the main character Solntse was a legendary Moscow's hippies hero. Soundtracks are perfect and make the film line to be organically incorporated in international hippies movement. I have watched this movie several times and highly recommend to watch it for everybody who are interested in the great history of Soviet Russia, not so simple as the media and some politicians promote now.
