Storyline

- TriviaSince this episode didn't air when it was originally supposed to, they had to re-shoot a few scenes that centered around Hodgins proposing to Angela. By the time this episode aired, there was a proposal accepted and they were almost married. Other than that everything else is the same. This explains why Brennan expresses surprise that Booth was a jock in spite of the fact that they had previously discussed it quite a bit in Boy in the Time Capsule (2007)"
- GoofsBecause the episode aired out of its original intended order, several plot lines were skewed. Booth reveals to Dr. Brennan that he was once a jock, which she already knew because they discussed it in The Secret in the Soil (2007).
- Quotes
Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan: Even Cutler knew you were lying when you said you treated women like that under the bleachers.
Special Agent Seeley Booth: Oh, and you believe him?
Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan: Yes. Because you still remember that first girl's name.
- Alternate versionsThe original episode, shot during the second season, involved a subplot about Dr Hodgins proposing to Angela and being rejected. The episode was delayed one year and aired during the third season, when Angela already accepted Dr Hodgins' proposal, therefore in the version that aired this subplot was replaced with another one about them being caught on security camera while making love in a storage room at the workplace. Both episodes are available on the 3rd season DVD.
Featured review
B&B investigate the remains of a star college basketball player found crushed to death under the bleachers in the college gym. But was he dead before or after the bleachers were closed? It gets worse: the player apparently was on steroids. Brennan gets an introduction to the world of jocks and a side of college she certainly never experienced. Not much frivolity here. There's a side angle involving the sexual antics of the students, which eventually leads to the solution. Not one of my favorite episodes. But for those who decide to watch it, remember blue lipstick. And you get to see Brennan showing a maternal side when she finds a nest of baby rats inside the corpse's body.
