Wow, this episode is really good and thrilling. It kept me on the edge of my seat throughout!

I wasn't really sure whether Jake, Mimi and Stanley can make it. Man, what an uneven episode!

People might consider episode 14 as a filler. To me it's a significant episode and the suspense is a nice bonus. The relationship of Jake and his father plays a big role in "Heart of Winter" and it's done so well. The emotions are really there.

Ah, another little detail which I really liked: After the car crash, Jake throws some bottled water, a flashlight and a gun behind a hill. What a clever move. Some movies and TV shows forget about scenes like that. I must admit that the scene is a little heavy-handed, but well, they put it in and I enjoyed it!

I can't wait to watch the next episode. I'm binge watching this great TV show at the moment... It's superb.

Not one of the better episodes

Food is running low so Jake, Stanly, and Mini go on a deer hunting trip. I wonder if the eco-system is irradiated? Why one would eat wild game with radiation in it? Would the deer be contaminated? Was the food out of the radiation belt? A truck disaster happens, and bandits run off with all their possessions. In the middle of nowhere what will the 3 do? The town is still in personal turmoil and the other half of the show has Jake, Stanly and Mini face personal term-oil too. The Stanly, and Mini too. The bickering gets to be a little too munch. I feel asleep for part of the show. The show wraps up positively as usual. 6 out of 10. 'Heart of winter' is a filler episode. A more forgettable one too. Watch in anyways.

Good but SO bad

BS-du-jour: A guy tells the girl to "RUN!" while he is pinned under his truck. THEN he tries to reach the gun and misses it by mere inch. She could've kicked it to him WHILE she was "running". AND THEN the girl must go for help. She is told to "head southeast". She says, "It doesn't mean anything to me". He starts explaining how to follow the road, take left, then second right, then left, blah blah blah. YOU ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DESERT! Just POINT!!! Wait, wait, wait, that's not all! She reaches the sign that should point her in the right direction, and it's... yep, smashed. "GOD, I HATE THIS PLACE!" she laments. And I second that. But hey, life's good in Clichéville.

This is an amazing story, and the actors do what they can to make it work. But the WRITING is just HORRIBLE.
