I think this title is an attempt by Penthouse to go head to head with Playboy's 'Strip Search' series. Both give you "an inside look'" at ladies performing in real life strip clubs. That or it's meant to be a cash-in for the Hollywood flop of the same name that had came out not long before. In either case 'Showgirls of Penthouse' isn't one of their best titles.
After a 90 sec intro is "Samantha" Michaels - Pet Nov 1996 - in a red dress doing a brief solo on a sunny balcony before a stageshow dressed cowgirl style complete with hat. Then back to a balcony in red lingerie supplying the best views of her (8 mins). "Kiayah" Delao - Pet Apr 1996 - does her solo indoors dressed in black. Then in black vinyl for a stage show. She puts shaving cream over her kitty and playfully shaves as members of the crowd participate. Back indoors in white lingerie, she plays a piano and then a little nudity in a very short scene (8 mins).
You can see the format emerging. "Waterworks" breaks from that briefly in a scene composed of three walk-in showers next to each other like in a locker room. Three of the featured ladies is various dress get naked as the camera pans back & forth (3.5 mins). "Lisa" Gayle - Pet Oct 1996 - in a blue nighty strips on a bed providing nice shots. For her show, she's dressed up like catgirl head to toe like Michelle Pfeiffer was in 'Batman Returns'. Then indoors in a silver dress. Lots of overhead shots and a few close-ups (11 mins).
"Roxy" Le Roux lays down in a one piece lingerie and her boobs come out pretty quick and there's a nice risqué closeup or two. On stage she pulls the innocent schoolgirl routine compete with a novelty oversized lollipop. No closing solo (6 mins). "Diane" Fowler (aka Sunset Thomas) - Pet Mar 1996 - leads off with a staged encounter with a customer (really an actor) at a strip club and some boy/girl. Now in a fancy dress indoors she strips in a very slow scene. Back to the stage where she peels out of a cowgirl costume and whip cream gets used (13 mins). "Afternoon Delight" is a quick girl/girl featuring Diane & Roxy. It's brief, not very hot and feels very much tacked onto the end (3 mins).
If you enjoy footage of ladies in strip clubs and want it done slightly more explicit than what Playboy typically provides this title 'Showgirls' might work for you. I realize it isn't my thing. I prefer a focus on professionally filmed staged scenes like what Penthouse's 'Gentlemen's Club' did fantastically or at the very least better shot material.
