Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • Certain anomalies can instantly kill humans and mutants alike once in close proximity. The aftermath is usually very gory.
  • Some factions within the Zone are hostile to the player and others, usually ending in a gunfight. Same for mutants who are highly aggressive and will attack anyone on sight.
  • Varying amount of blood can spray on the wall or ground when someone is shot or killed. Both human and mutant. The quantity of blood spilled usually depends on how many times you shoot the enemy.
  • Dead decaying corpses and human body parts can be seen lying around in some areas within the Zone.

Profanity

  • Language such as, sh*t, b*tch, wh*re, and f*ck can be heard. Profanity is mostly spoken in Russian.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Player can drink Vodka and get drunk (depends on the amount of alcohol consumed). Vodka is also used as anti-radiation drug. In some mods, other alcoholic beverages (Beer and others) can be used or sold to other Stalkers. Packs of cigarettes' can be seen in some places, but can't be used or sold.
  • Sci-Fi drug use
  • Player character can drink alcohol and sell it to NPC's.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Some of the mutants are frightening in appearance and can be encountered in dark locations.
  • Some of the dark underground locations can be unnerving.
  • There are ghosts in certain locations, some can attack you and others can not. All of their encounters are pretty frightening.
  • The mutants make disturbing sounds.
