"The Night It Rained" (I will not bother with the original title here) is an Iranian 40-minute black-and-white short film from 1967, so this one is almost 50 years old now. The writer and director is Kamran Shirdel and as he was pretty young when he made this one, maybe his most known work, he is still alive today. But I personally do not see any appeal in here for general audiences. It may be a decent watch for everybody with a sincere interest in Iran, Iranian history or Iranian cinema, but everybody else can skip it and they will not be missing much. The topic is just too specific, apart from the film being about a time long gone. Overall, I give this one a thumbs down, as the target group for the movie is just extremely tiny.
