Due to a series of misunderstandings, Sir Dennis, Miss Fennell and Malcolm and Beattie all believe, erroneously, that Terry and June have invited them for Christmas dinner and turn up at the house. Sir Dennis gives a speech, boring everybody with his war stories, Miss Fennell gets tiddly and loses the novelty from her cracker and nobody seems to understand Terry's mimes when they play Charades. All in all the Medfords are glad when the day is over.
