Harrison Ford, Ashley Judd, Ray Liotta, and Jim Sturgess in Crossing Over (2009)

Goofs

Crossing Over

Edit

Continuity

Brogan's hair color varies from mostly gray to light salt and pepper to dark salt and pepper to almost blonde and gray.

Factual errors

Cole tells Claire that fellow Australian actresses "Nicole" [Kidman] and "Naomi" [Watts] needed Alien of Extraordinary Ability Green Cards to continue to live and work in the United States. However, Nicole Kidman was actually born in Hawaii, making her a US citizen; she therefore wouldn't have needed a Green Card.
Denise Frankel is trying to adopt the little girl from Nigeria, who has been in the detention center. There is a lengthy process for adoption, and there never seems to be any hint of an investigation into her, her husband Cole, or their home to ensure that the girl would be placed into a suitable living environment. Throughout the movie, it doesn't seem as though Cole had even participated in the screening process. Also, Cole being arrested toward the end of the movie might indicate a refusal for the adoption to take place in actuality, yet after his arrest, the girl is released to Denise's custody.
In Gavin's interview scene, the immigration officer relies on the Rabbi's opinion. The garb and the accent of the Rabbi suggest he is a European Orthodox (probably Lubavich), yet in the end he gives Gavin a card, saying he should come to Temple Bet Sholom. "Temple Bet Sholom" is typically a name for splinter Reform congregations, whose rabbis are mostly American- or Canadian-born (therefore no accent), and wear contemporary clothes.

Revealing mistakes

Near the beginning of the movie, there is a scene where Harrison Ford's character is booking a prisoner into a detention center for illegal immigrants. In this scene, the booking officer is incorrectly wearing the uniform of a CBP Enforcement Officer instead of an ICE Immigration Enforcement Agent.

Audio/visual unsynchronised

The sobbing of Zahra's father is not in sync with his chest movements at 1:01.'

Character error

When Harrison Ford's character, who is supposed to be an experienced Border Patrol agent, tries to dial the phone number in Tijuana, Mexico, you can see that he dials 1661 and the rest of the number as if dialing within the U.S. An experienced agent should know that it's an international number and one must dial 011 followed by the country code and the number. In this case he should have dialed 01152661 and the rest of the number.
