At the very least, you can watch it to see a guy hurt himself repeatedly.

Otherwise known as "The Wall", this little Yugoslavian animated film has won seven different film awards.

It begins with a couple big-nosed characters appearing on the screen next to a very tall rock wall. The guy in the suit just stands there and watches a naked guy trying with all his might to get over the wall--and failing and hurting himself each time. Each time, the attempts get weirder and weirder and it's pretty funny to watch this little guy flail about and hurt himself. After all, in cartoons, other people's pain is quite funny. The punchline ain't bad...nor is it really that great. But, there's enough pain and suffering to make it worth seeing!

Pretty outdated, even for 50 years ago

Warning: Spoilers
"Zid" or "The Wall" is a Yugoslavian, 4-minute cartoon from 1965. The writer and director is Ante Zaninovic and this was actually his first work in both professions. We see a well-dressed man walk towards a wall. He doesn't get through, so he waits. A bearded, naked man appears and tries all he can to tear this wall down. In the end, he succeeds, but seemingly pays a very high prize. The well-dressed gentleman just walks through the whole and runs into another obstacle. So he waits again. I do not think, there is any political message in here, it's just a little tale on how some people serve and others are served in my opinion. It's okay for 4 minutes, but really could not have run for much longer without starting to drag. Good thing about it is you don't need subtitles as nobody is talking in here. Bad thing is that it's really not a great film. The animation looks even older then 50 years ago. All in all, not recommended.
