A small golden adventure to repair a magic sword. Warning: Spoilers
Mumm-ra manages to trick Lion-0 to use the Sword of Omens against a fellow Thundercat: wise Tygra. Because of it, a curse falls upon the sword breaking it and making Lion-0 trying desperate measures: going inside a Volcano to try to repair it.

Given the emergency, the Thundercats (with Ro-Bear-Bill's advice) ask a strange being called "The Enflamer" who can withstand the heat of the Vulcano to repair the sword. Nevertheless, the powers of the Enflamer must be repaired first so he can then repair the sword and the recipe for that is a bath of pure melted gold. Nonetheless, once the Enflamer has the repaired sword in his power, he betrays The Thundercats and Ro-Bear-Bill by attacking the Thundercats and challenging them to "come for the sword".

This episode has (IMO) one of the most detailed continuity lines of all the series. It comes from the adventure called "Lord of the Snows" where the Thundercats go after a meteor of pure Thundrillium. Now, in this episode we have the Thundercats purifying and later making ingots of it, finding in the process a metal they find very strange: GOLD. This rare metal is beautiful and easy to work with, but nevertheless, Panthro and Tygra don't seem to find a use for GOLD. Nevertheless Cheetara keeps some of it because of its beauty. Later in the story, it will be used to bath the Enflamer.

Also, when they go with their friend Ro-Bear-Bill to find the Enflamer, he says that he was attacked by mutants, which means that Mumm-ra had planned this plot carefully before-hand and attacked the Enflamer so that he couldn't help Lion-0 and his Thundercats.

Another detail enriching this story is Lion-O's farewell for Tygra and Snarf when he begins escalating the volcano, an elegant gesture in my opinion:

First talking to Tygra:

"If I don't return, you will be the new Lord of the Thundercats. Good-bye"

then talking to Snarf:

"Good-bye. Loyal Snarf!!! "

Finally, if our always smart Thundercats happen to have kept making tests on GOLD, we can be sure they'd found uses for its virtues in chemistry, electronics, following Cheetara's example, jewelry, and also as a protective agent.

Thanks for reading.
