This episode is told in a flashback five years before the time this episode aired. The episode won't win awards for period authenticity, but this series isn't Mad Men in terms of period style, aside of showing what styles in 1966-71 were.
What makes this episode fun is the presence of Dennis Weaver. Fresh off his run on Gentle Ben, and right before his starring role on McCloud, this has to be one of his first with his mustache. He really shines here.
With all due respect to Marlo Thomas, some of her performance here is almost irritating, like some little crying girl. That said, seeing Dennis Weaver is enough to make this episode interesting.
