To advance her acting career, Ann applies for entrance into an acting workshop led by the overly critical but brilliant Jules Benedict. Despite her lack of experience, he lets her audition anyway. While Ann practices the scene for her audition which is supposed to take place at 8:15pm, she reluctantly agrees to sit for Stanley while Judy is called off on an emergency. Ann does so only since Judy vows to be back by 6:30pm. As evening approaches, Ann is placed between a rock and a hard place as Judy is still off on her emergency, and Leon, who was supposed to be back, is called off as one of his patients is about to give birth. With no one else available to sit with Stanley, Ann feels she has no other option than to take Stanley to the audition with her. Ann just hopes that real life won't interfere with he audition. It does, but not quite in the way she anticipated.
