Debate Over a Date
JordanThomasHall2 November 2017
Mrs. Muir (Hope Lange) is writing an article over the founding of Schooner Bay Grammar School, celebrating its 200th year. Captain Gregg (Edward Mulhare) informs Candace and Jonathan that the school was founded earlier on March 15, 1741 by his great, great grandfather Ephraim Elias Gregg. Their teacher Miss Stoddard (Renie Riano, Nancy Drew series) insists that it was founded on February 22, 1770 by Joshua Stoddard. Miss Stoddard is upset, giving Jonathan and Candy a writing assignment and sending them to the principal, Mr. Hampton (character actor Dan Tobin) who also punishes them by suspending them for the rest of the day. Mrs. Muir scolds the Captain, who in turn changes her article, with his account appearing in the newspaper to the uproar of the community. The Captain must now "dig" for proof.
