Eddie and Joy are excited that their daughter Allison is home for the holidays but Eddie is perplexed when she turns to Joy for comfort after a break-up. Eddie hopes to impress Allison at the Woodcock's party with his new cheerful outlook.

Eddie (Brad Garrett) and Joy (Joely Fisher) are excited for their daughter Allison (Krysten Ritter) to come home for the holidays, but Eddie is perplexed when she turns to Joy for comfort after an unexpected break-up.
