Messy
Jackbv1231 January 2019
Except for the Freaky Friday premise, most of this story is original. It is messy though, and so many things don't make sense even beyond the wish that results in the switch. The chaos builds until explodes at the end. There is even a real surprise or two.

I wish at least some of the characters had been likable. Dani vacillates between capable party planner and rudderless wimp. Only Rachel and Jerimiah seem to have a good heart underneath.

As the Christmas Reviewer said, you just have to go with it and enjoy.

"Watch it a second time!" didn't help...

This is one of my wife's favorite holiday films...but I can't stand it. The acting is below subpar, the editing makes no sense, and the sound engineer should have been fired. Nearly every scene with music is so drowned out you can't understand the dialogue...although that may be a bit of a blessing because what dialogue you can hear sucks.

The story concept wasn't bad, but the execution feels more like a high school film class project than anything someone would actually spend money on.

"A" for effort, "D" for execution, and "F-" for actually letting this thing get released...

7.5, really

I've learned, at least as far as Christmas movies go, to never pay attention to the overall reviews if it is something that sounds interesting to you.

I went in not expecting a lot from something that rated a 5.4 overall. I was pleasantly surprised. It is a very unlikely plot with with an equally, if not more, unlikely ending. It is a Christmas movie that embraces the disenchantment of the season as well as the magic, the sadness as well as the gladness. It overall has a good ending. It made me smile as well as shed a tear. Any film that can move me in some positive way deserves my positive review.

It is in no way a classic, but I would watch it again and would recommend others try it if the plot sounds like something they would enjoy.

Seems like a lot of the bad ratings for holiday movies come from die-hard realists who rate based on how believable the story is. You really can't do that with a Christmas movie...you end up with 95% looking like they're not worth watching.

Great Movie

BEWARE OF FALSE REVIEWS & REVIEWERS. SOME REVIEWERS HAVE ONLY ONE REVIEW TO THEIR NAME. NOW WHEN ITS A POSITIVE REVIEW THAT TELLS ME THEY WERE INVOLVED WITH THE MOVIE. IF ITS A NEGATIVE REVIEW THEN THEY MIGHT HAVE A GRUDGE AGAINST THE FILM . I HAVE REVIEWED OVER 200 HOLIDAY FILMS. I HAVE NO AGENDA.

If you don't know the general story of this film then take my word for it just watch it. The less you know the better. That is how I viewed it.

I have seen about 40 films with a Holiday theme in the past 2 months and this one was very enjoyable. Now when it comes to Holiday theme films they seem to go "By the Numbers". This film does have that but if you put that aside you will enjoy the story because it takes a few twist & turns that I didn't see coming.

I really did love the story because there is a message about what true wealth is & what makes a family. Also the big message here is "Just because people treat you bad that doesn't mean you are not worthy of love".

The film is on LIFETIME but it is available on Amazon and it worth buying

Heavenly Wishes

Warning: Spoilers
This was a cleverly plotted film that offered a major challenge to the two performers playing Rachel and Brittany. After they simultaneously make a wish upon a star atop a Christmas tree, they in effect have their wishes fulfilled by switching bodies. The film then unfolds the complications of them trying to get back to their original forms and the wisdom they achieve in the process.

The central character in the middle of this complicated narrative is Danni Hartford, a party planner and multi-tasker. Danni believes that she was separated from her little sister and spends much of the film trying to locate the girl.

Another intriguing character is Danni's ex-boyfriend Jeremiah, who was separated from Danni when he was sent to fight in the Middle East. Jeremiah's character plays a pivotal role as a controlling figure, as he always seems to be showing up precisely when Danni is in need of his advice.

The film juggles two family situations of the affluent world of Brittany and the hardscrabble life of Rachel being shuttled around to foster homes. Things come to a head at a big Christmas party of Brittany's parents, where her mother hopes to win a large contract from a client. The centerpiece of the party will be a "speech" to be delivered by Brittany about family values.

Beyond the excellent performances, there was good feeling to the film in the message of what it means to have a loving family. There was lively humor in the zany situations resulting from the mix-up of Rachel and Brittany. But, there was also a heartfelt message that comes across in the big build-up to the speech for the ages delivered by Brittany.....or what it Rachel who gave the speech?....or was it both of them that should take the credit?
