Best episode yet!
bcgrote4 December 2006
Funny start, to a tear-jerking end!! LOVED the coconut killing the table scene, I laughed out loud both during the previews and the show itself!! And the whole jerk father thing, and who loves who, etc, a great thematic arc is developing. The NO musicians at the end was awesome and beautiful. I truly hope the musicians were actual NO refugees. We both nearly burst into tears at the "All I want for Christmas is my city back" banner. And will there be a TCA show? We love TCA (gag).... Many thanks to those who decided this show should be retained. It is inciteful and intelligent, which in Hollywood is a sure sign of impending cancellations!

Finally working as it should

I've stuck with this show because I loved the West Wing and kept wanting a replacement. This episode finally pulled all the pieces together into what we came to expect from these actors and writers. The comic banter sets the pulse of the show and the dramatic punches, even when expected, were truly punches. It could have gone either way with the chairman and they could have dragged out the romantic links for way too long but they didn't. The tribute to New Orleans was well set up and executed - brought me to tears. I can't wait for the second half of this season. If you gave up on this show early on, give it another try. You might have to review a few episodes to catch up but it's worth it. PLEASE keep up the good work and keep improving.

We loved the show

My husband and I loved the Christmas show because of the sweet interaction between the characters and the positive Christmas point of view. We think Christmas is a special time and your show reflected that. The casual conversations between Matthew and Brad were hysterical as was the visit to the Gyn office with Brad. The musicians were fantastic and we would like to know who they are so we can buy some of their CDs. Please reveal the music source. And please continue the show. Some of the episodes did not have the conversations that sparkle like this episode did. Please keep it on the air and could we please hear the musicians again? We have replayed this episode four times already.

Brilliant episode of a near perfect show

People even now moan and groan about 'Studio 60' and use it as an easy punchline. And even though I'm a huge fan i'll admit it wasn't perfect, it was still better than half the things on TV today, and in my opinion far superior to Sorkin's follow up 'The Newsroom'.

What seems to unite people though is that this Christmas episode of the show was great, and it at it's best.

And there's loads of reasons for that. The Matt and Danny relationship is at it's best and I loved the moments between Matt and Suzanne.

Yes, there's the Matt/Harriet drama, but that bubbles along throughout. For the most part here it walks the right side of the 'too much' line.

The end moment is brilliantly staged and written. It reminds us of how bad the situation was in New Orleans was at the time, but on a far smaller level how great Studio 60 could be.
