The story-line of Dot's love troubles continues as she struggles to choose which Bob her heart truly belongs to: "GlitchBob" as he now goes, or the brand spanking new Bob, and she ultimately chooses very poorly... It's hardly system-shattering stuff - or so you think! It also continues the plot thread of Dot trying to communicate with her departed father through his blue-coloured null remains Nibbles, which went silent the moment Hexadecimal sadly left the picture.. They speak of experiments to turn nulls back into the sprites and binomes that they used to be, if the series had continued a little longer you can bet a dollar to a doughnut that that's one of the bigger things they'd have resolved. Meanwhile Bob demands to be separated from his damaged glitch device to change who he is for Dot's sake and to hopefully look more like he used to before he was exposed to the web, as well as, I'm still assuming, as stated during the Daemon Rising story arc, that he must do so in order to live, because the merger of the two was imperfect. Bob tries various things to separate himself from glitch, including using telepods taken straight out of Cronenberg's The Fly! His attempt to undo the fusion by using a portal like he once did to split Gigabyte backfire and instead leave him in a strange crystalline state that looks pretty amazing and has a dazzling cosmic light show playing across it in constant motion. The new creepy Bob comforts Dot about what's happened to GlitchBob and she hugs, kisses passionately and says that she loves him. To me that felt really shallow and unworthy of her as a character, that she chooses the younger better looking Bob over the war-damaged older one based on nothing more than that she feels more comfortable and safe around him because he has a more familiar appearance. That doesn't seen like something Dot would do after everything she's been through, she should know by now that things are hardly ever as they seem in her world... The game is a visual and thematic delight with the characters in miniature having to avoid and kill the loony raccoon game user that's back again three times in impressively well thought-out and intricate domino effect traps that to me are a joy to watch. I love what everybody reboots into, with Matrix turning into Darth Vader, Phong becoming a pot of talking strawberry yogurt that says everything all backwards like Yoda for no reason in particular, the new Bob becomes an Action Man/G.I.Joe action figure with joints just like the real life Reboot figures had, Enzo becomes what looks like the young Anakin Skywalker from The Phantom Menace as a weird puppet on strings who phrases all his sentences in a hilariously bizarre way, and Hack and Slash turn into red and blue pop cans with "Poke" and "Peeek" written on them, in parody of a certain two world famous soft drinks! It's a special game because it's kind of the last bit of genuine lightness that you ever see in the show before things go to hell for everyone yet again soon enough. It really tickles me hearing Hack and Slash say the word "mum!" There's affectionate little flashes of British wit strewn throughout the entire series. For instance the name of this story, "My Two Bobs", besides there indeed being two Bobs I'm pretty sure it also refers to an English saying that people in certain parts say when they don't have a lot of money, they say "I don't have two bobs to rub together!" Fun episode, the game is fantastic and it moves the story closer to it's final outcome - and I *DO* mean final! Bring on the dang wedding!
