A solid episode

Warning: Spoilers
A solid episode! In Search of D B Cooper unfolds like a documentary. One learns of the events. The extortion, escape, and pursuit of the sky-jacking is analyzed. Interviews by witness, experts and theories meld into an interesting mystery. In Search of has great reenactments, music, narrations mixed back and forth with interviews, and theories. What is D B Cooper's real name? The psychologist take educated guesses. Did Cooper survive the jump? Experts theorize. Who, what, where could Cooper be is the million dollar question? Nine out of ten. The gold star standard episode for In search of. Nine stars out of ten. In search is dated for a 70's show.

Vanished Hijacker

The still unsolved case of D.B.(Dan) Cooper, who one late November day in 1971 hijacked a jetliner by handing a stewardess a note saying he had a bomb, and would detonate it unless paid a huge ransom, is profiled here most effectively. Cooper was quite well prepared and versed about airplanes, and after being paid his money, parachuted out the airplane over Washington woods, never to be seen or heard from again. Investigators and eyewitnesses from the flight are interviewed, and whether or not Cooper could have survived is up for debate. Years later, some debris was found, but as noted, not one bill of the ransom money ever turned up in circulation...

In Search Of... "D.B. Cooper" (1979)

Season four certainly turned out on great episode after another and that continued with this one taking a look at the mysterious disappearance of D.B. Cooper. The episode starts off talking about the now infamous hijacking and then we get into what happened to Cooper. A lot of theories are discussed including if it was possible that he lived or if not what could have lead to his death. I must say that this here was one of the best episodes in the series and it's certainly due to the actual case just being so fascinating. There's a FBI agent that is interviewed here who has nothing good to say about Cooper and even calls him ignorant yet he fails to realize that he was at least smart enough to pull this off. If you're a fan of the series or the subject then you'll certainly enjoy this.
