Learn more- This is the first episode where Starr and Cole interact after a post football game party. Both are clearly smitten, but fumbling over their words. Brittney intentionally spills a drink on Starr's dress, and Cole offers to help her "out of those clothes" meaning that he has an extra pair of sweatpants and a sweatshirt in his gymbag, but she mistakenly thinks he wants to disrobe her. They share a laugh about the mis-communication, and Langston is somehow called away by her parents (despite the fact we find out months later they have been dead for over a year) AND thus Cole stands guard while Starr changes behind the bushes. A love story is borne in this episode.
Elsewhere, Todd is on trial again BUT not worried as he as skated before and fully expects to do so again. Ms. McBain is observing the bullying by Brittney in school as well as the roid rage flare ups that sometimes occur with Cole as he feels the weight of the team on his shoulders. It is an interesting dichotomy because Cole has been raised by his mother to respect NO means NO regardless of the situation and yet despite more often than not coming across as chivalrous he still finds himself in a war with himself in that the Roid Rage makes him want sex more and more even though it is clear that - while he might be able to have any cheerleader he wants - his heart is set on Starr and this one is going to take the slow and gentle approach to even get her to be his girlfirend, let alone any talk of sex.
