This must be one of the best animated adaptation of one of the works done by the manga artist group CLAMP, having a beautiful and stylish character design, a superb atmosphere and great animation, all this accompanied by a very emotional song.
In some ways, this reminded me a lot the music video done by Hayao Miyazaki, "On your Mark", not only because both animated shorts had winged teenage girls and a hero trying to save her, but also by the Nonlinear narrative and the overall mood of the story, though I think than "On Your Mark" it's more optimistic, but I enjoyed this anyway.
That being said, I feel that the story from this short is somewhat incomplete, and also I guess that several elements will be missed for those viewers who doesn't know about the "Clover" comics done by CLAMP. In some ways, this feels like the trailer for a movie or one anime series.
