The film was conceived as an independent short film project designed to be shot start to finish within a single weekend with volunteer cast and crew. All the shots and setups were completed in two 12-hour back-to-back shooting days. An additional studio voiceover session was conducted separately.
Selected as one of eight films in the Philadelphia Short Filmmakers League's "Philly In Shorts" program that had an invitation-only, VIP screening at the Prince Music Theater sponsored by the Greater Philadelphia Filmmakers program of the Greater Philadelphia Film Office in April, 2006. This same "Philly In Shorts" program had a theatrical screening at the 2006 Cannes International Film Festival in the Short Film Corner segment of the festival on May 22, 2006.
Even though the coffee shop scene constituted nearly a third of the script pages, time constraints resulted in the entire coffee shop interior scene being shot in 90 minutes, including setting lights and cameras, shooting from the outside at night through the front picture windows.
