Gareb : [Spawn has woken up from a nightmare and grabs Gareb] Wait it's me, Gareb. Remember me, Gareb. You don't want to kill me, right?
Spawn : Gareb?
Gareb : Yeah. Can I breathe now?
[Spawn puts Gareb down]
Gareb : Another nightmare, huh? I get them pretty bad sometimes, too, remembering when my folks put me in the hospital, said I was you know touched in the head.
Spawn : I thought some downtime will help. Give me a chance to sort things out. Seems like the more I think, the worse the nightmares get, and I can't shut it off.
Gareb : You hungry? I got a good deal on a half loaf of bread, only a week old. Still has some of the plastic wrapped around it.
Spawn : Go away, Gareb.
Gareb : You shouldn't sit down here alone all the time, it ain't healthy.
Spawn : I'm not worried about my health. I've got to figure things out.
Gareb : Maybe you need to quit all of this figuring and go do something. Of course, what do I know, right? I'm just a bum with a half a loaf of moldy bread, and no one to share it with except my buddies Jack Daniels, and Jim Bean.
Cogliostro : [Cogliostro appears from the alleyway] You have a friend there, Spawn. Listen to him.
Spawn : Beat it, old man. I'm in no mood.

Spawn : [lifts the photographer up to him with his chains after seeing him take photographs of Wanda in the park] Why are you following her? I'm talking to you, dirtbag!
[the photographer pulls out his gun and aims it at Spawn who shields its barrel with his hand]
Spawn : Not a healthy idea.
[the photographer shoots Spawn's hand, but Spawn breaks his arm and drops him on the ground. As the photographer clutches his broken arm in pain, Spawn smashes his camera with his chain and learns over the photographer]
Spawn : I want answers now!
[Spawn rips his mask, exposing his rotting face]
Spawn : Starting with your boss's name!
[Terrified, the photographer grabs his gun, stuffs its barrel into his mouth, and blows his brain out]
