Underrated episode

I've just gone back to watch Friday Night Lights after having been a casual viewer when it was first on.

I was shocked to see this episode has only a 5.9 average. I think apart from a few minor blemishes it is one of the best structured TV episodes I've ever seen, almost like a feature film in miniature. The way the themes are laid out - the fighting, the dishonesty, the desire for approval, as well as the scene near the end with Riggins and his brother - all deftly executed drama interspersed with just enough humor and struggles.

I'm sure there are other better episodes to come given that I'm not even through the first season yet. But this one was a gem.
