The Men's Club picnic is coming up and they are looking for old trophies won by members, so Ozzie is hunting for the decathlon trophy he won years ago. He'd like to donate it, and look good in the process.....but he and his family can't find it. Harriet has seen it but can't recall where.
The problem starts when Harriet (who should know better) suggests Ozzie go to the jewelry store and get a new trophy. Of course, there is something fishy about that, and sure enough, when Ozzie is "discovered," the guys give him the business. Ozzie swears it's just replacing the real trophy that he honestly won years ago, but it looks bad.
Not-so-coincidentally, the club plans a "family decathlon" event at the picnic, and the Nelsons decide to enter. Maybe Oz can get some of his hurt pride restored.
This episode starts off slowly but builds momentum and becomes a very enjoyable one, with plenty of laughs and even suspense! We also are treated to Ricky doing a number, "Whole Lotta Shaking" and he's good, although the man who made the song famous - Jerry Lee Lewis - does it a whole lot better, even today! Ricky also dances and that part will make you laugh. David, by the way, has some of the best lines in here. Early in this series, Ricky was the main comedian but as the years went on, the older brother got some good dialog thrown his way, too.
This is another great episode in a wonderful DVD set called "The Best Of The Adventures Of Ozzie And Harriet."
